Army of Female

 

 "After flicking through the pages of “Army of Female”, nothing will be left standing. For the author Sinara Foss, words are sharp blades. Take care not to get cut. All stories present female characters as protagonists and take place in the fictional town of Vinha d’Alho that could be the countryside of anywhere in Brazil.  The female characters daily routine is one of delusion, depression and unrequited love.  However, their voices are not passive. They raise like a resistance cry against a society dominated by men.  Suicides, poisonings, threats and killings give a horror seasoning along the book. The gloomy aspects of human soul reach its peak at the final short story. The wreckage of unhappy and incomplete relationships emerge without any chance to redemption.  Try to gather the pieces of your heart and soul after reading Sinara Foss’ work.  Meanwhile try to remember that every piece of fiction represents our society giving us an opportunity to think and rebuild the world we live in."  Duda Falcão - writer
